Gulf Engine & Equipment, Inc. is a Kubota engine distributor in the Gulf South that specializes in packaging for offshore applications. With over 45 years’ experience in offshore packaging, Gulf Engine is recognized for providing quality equipment to withstand harsh offshore environments.
Our Story
Gulf Engine & Equipment was founded in 1967 by Les Palmisano, Sr. We quickly developed a reputation for packaging offshore equipment during the oil boom in the 70s and early 80s. In 1982 the company relocated to its present facility in Belle Chasse, Louisiana. Through the 90s, Gulf Engine acquired and developed new product lines to support offshore customers. In 2000, Les Palmisano Jr. took over the company. Gulf Engine is proud to be a family-owned-and-operated business.
Today, Gulf Engine operates from a multi-building complex that facilitates our Kubota Engine and Generator distribution, offshore equipment design, custom fabrication and assembly.
The Gulf-Tek Equipment Brand
Established under Gulf Engine & Equipment, Inc. as its own equipment line, Gulf-Tek is the number one equipment supplier for offshore rental companies, as well as oil and gas, petrochemical/marine and environmental companies. Not limited to the Gulf Coast, Gulf-Tek equipment is currently used on five continents, and it has worldwide parts and service availability.
The Gulf-Tek equipment line includes:

- Generators
- Offshore light towers
- Diesel and electric pressure washers
- Hydraulic power units
- Compressors
Depending on your circumstances, equipment can be assembled to meet explosion-proof requirements. Bare engines can also be assembled for repower applications.
Gulf-Tek products come complete with all components necessary to meet offshore requirements. The equipment is packaged with heavy-duty galvanized skid material, drip pan, 4 corner lift, spark arrestors, air intake shutdown systems, USCG approved fuel tanks and weatherproof engine controls. For your convenience, air starters are optional.
Les Palmisano Jr., the CEO and president of Gulf Engine, oversees the design, fabrication and assembly of the Gulf-Tek equipment line, including engine and generator distribution.
