History

Founded in 1967 by Les Palmisano, Sr., Gulf Engine developed a reputation in packaging offshore equipment during the oil boom in the 70’s and early 80’s. In 1982 the company relocated to the present facility in Belle Chasse, Louisiana. Gulf Engine operates from a multi building complex that facilitates the Kubota Engine and Generator distribution, equipment design, custom fabrication and assembly. Through the 90’s, Gulf Engine acquired new product lines to support offshore customers and advance the company into the 21st century.

In 2000 Les Palmisano Jr. took over the company. Gulf Engine is proud to be a family operated business.
